TEHRAN – Iran’s men volleyball team defeated Bahrain 3-1 (25-16, 25-19, 22-25, 25-22) in Pool B of the 2022 Asian Games on Thursday.

Team Melli, who had defeated Nepal in 3-0 (25-9, 25-15, 25-13) in their opening match, will play Thailand on Friday in Round of 12.

Iran, who were denied a third consecutive continental championship by Japan in late August, are the Games’ defending champions.

The Asian Games in Hangzhou was due to take place in 2022 but postponed to 2023.
